Hi, I’m Joanne! I love shopping but often end up with unused items. I feel wasteful throwing away good things, so I’m looking for an app to exchange goods with like-minded people.
My proposed solution is a platform for users to exchange goods. It features a chat for direct communication and a quick response tool for scheduling meetings and confirming deals.
The journey map traces a user's experience searching for goods to exchange, identifying pain points and designing smoother, user-friendly paths.
I created a responsive website for a seamless experience across devices. Using the sitemap, I ensured a cohesive, consistent user experience with a clear organizational structure, resulting in a visually appealing and functional site.
I developed a user flow to visualize and anticipate the steps a typical user takes on the app, ensuring seamless task completion.
I conducted a quick ideation exercise to enhance the user experience of exchanging goods. By brainstorming, I identified key strategies to help users find and match with desired items.
To start the wireframing process, I created paper wireframes which were later refined based on feedback. Following this, I translated the design into a digital version using Figma.
Affinity diagrams help me group research insights, identifying key themes and patterns to better understand and define problems in app design.
Based on usability studies, I refined the design by adding a "reject" button to cancel deals, a "cancel request" button for scheduled requests, and a "sent" status for tracking. I also introduced an overlay frame to clarify item selection after tapping "match."
Users felt the app effectively repurposed waste, contributing to waste reduction. A peer noted, "2Life personalizes environmental awareness and makes it easy and engaging." I learned that breaking down big problems and prioritizing user needs leads to feasible, effective solutions.
